Hearing Loss Treatment Options

The good news: most hearing loss can be successfully treated. The right approach depends on the type, degree, and cause of your hearing loss, all of which are identified during your evaluation with one of our audiologists.

Hearing Aids

For most cases of sensorineural and mixed hearing loss, hearing aids are the primary treatment. Today’s hearing aids are smaller, smarter, and more natural-sounding than ever. Many connect wirelessly to smartphones, TVs, and other devices. We carry all major brands and styles, and every fitting is precisely calibrated to your specific audiogram.

Cochlear Implants

For individuals with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss who do not benefit adequately from hearing aids, cochlear implants may be an option. Unlike hearing aids, which amplify sound, cochlear implants directly stimulate the auditory nerve, bypassing damaged hair cells.

Bone-Anchored Hearing Systems (BAHAs)

For people with conductive hearing loss, single-sided deafness, or anatomical issues that prevent conventional hearing aid use, bone-anchored devices transmit sound through bone vibration directly to the inner ear, bypassing the outer and middle ear entirely.

Medical and Surgical Treatment

Conductive hearing loss caused by earwax, infections, fluid, or structural issues is often fully treatable with medication, earwax removal, or minor surgical procedures.

Aural Rehabilitation

Following a hearing aid fitting or cochlear implant, aural rehabilitation helps patients maximize their hearing potential through training, strategies, and support. This is especially valuable for central hearing loss and for patients returning to hearing after significant loss.

Tinnitus Treatment

If ringing or buzzing in the ears accompanies your hearing loss, tinnitus treatment is available alongside hearing loss management.
